Who is Goodness Village?
Goodness Village is a nonprofit organization that has provided fully furnished apartments for patients and their families traveling to Little Rock for medical treatment for the past 30 years. Our mission is to keep families together by offering comfort, care and a supportive community. Both of our Little Rock locations are just minutes from local medical facilities. We are a Christ-led organization that welcomes and serves families of all backgrounds with compassion and care.
How can I apply to stay at Goodness Village?
Fill out the online application, or simply contact us at 501-530-0095 and we will be happy to walk you through the process. There is no social work referral required. We accept any patient or family member of a patient who is receiving medical treatment in Little Rock.
How much does it cost and will my insurance cover my stay?
Rates vary based on length of stay, with both short- and long-term pricing plus a one-time cleaning fee. We recommend checking your insurance policy, as many providers offer partial or full reimbursement for housing during medical treatment. Goodness Village provides detailed receipts to support reimbursement requests. Financial assistance is available for those in need thanks to the generosity of our donors. Who can stay at Goodness Village?
Patients receiving medical treatment in Little Rock, along with their caregivers, are eligible to stay at Goodness Village. Caregivers are welcome to remain in the apartment even if the patient is admitted to the hospital. It is important to us to keep the families together in a comfortable environment, so they are able to relax and stay strong to care for their family member who is receiving treatment. To qualify the patient must be actively receiving medical care. It is preferred that you live at least 50 miles from Little Rock, though exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. A minimum stay of three nights is required.
How long can I stay at Goodness Village?
Goodness Village strives to make your stay as stress-free as possible. We do not require a lease or contract, understanding that medical situations can be unpredictable. We simply ask that families keep us informed about their schedule so we can accommodate others in need of housing.
What are the policies of Goodness Village?
Goodness Village maintains a clean and comfortable environment for all guests. Please note the following policies:
- Payment. The payment terms, rates, and payment options will be included in your check-in information. We ask that within 48 hours of arrival you pay a minimum of the first week’s rent. If you cannot make payment, this may result in the need for you to find alternate housing.
- No Smoking. The apartment complex strictly prohibits smoking. Smoking is not allowed inside the apartments or anywhere on the property. This includes all indoor and outdoor areas. Failure to comply with this policy may result in eviction.
- No Pets. Pets are NOT permitted in the apartment.
- Apartment Care. You will be responsible for keeping your apartment clean during your stay. Cleaning supplies are provided. Please take care to launder linens as needed.
Vacating Apartment. The apartment must be left in neat and orderly condition. Please make sure all trash and personal items have been removed. If furniture has been moved, please return it to its original location. You must check-out of the apartment on or before your agreed upon check-out date. What do I need to bring?
Goodness Village offers beautiful, fully furnished one- and two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment includes all utilities, a full kitchen complete with pots, pans, and everything needed to cook, full-sized washer and dryer, extra linens, and bathroom towels. Additionally, internet access is provided and smart TVs equipped for streaming services. Our apartments are move-in ready with everything you need. We take pride in the small details to ensure a comfortable stay, so families can focus on relaxing and recovering. We provide cleaning supplies to promote a healthy environment and have medical equipment available if needed.
Are meals provided?
Volunteers and local partners help stock our freezer with soups and casseroles for our guests. A meal is provided upon arrival, with additional meals available weekly upon request. When possible, we also offer grocery and restaurant gift cards and deliver celebration and holiday treats to support our families.
Does Goodness Village accommodate families with children?
Yes, Goodness Village welcomes families with children. Our apartments are designed to accommodate families, and we take pride in keeping families together during medical treatment. However, children under 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
How is Goodness Village funded?
Goodness Village charges a low, all-inclusive nightly rate for our apartments, and the money from rent and cleaning fees helps keep our program going. In addition, we receive support from individual donors, businesses, and fundraising efforts to ensure the program’s sustainability.
