Providing comfort, care, and community.

Goodness Village provides affordable apartment housing in Little Rock, Arkansas, for patients and their families who require outpatient medical treatment.

Our Story

Imagine leaving your comfortable home, your family, friends, job –literally putting your life on hold.

Imagine being faced with a life-changing diagnosis and being whisked away to undergo treatment in an unfamiliar city for an average of 6 months to a year. Imagine leaving your comfortable home, your family, friends, and your job –literally putingyourlife, as you know it, on hold. Our families face that reality when traveling to our community for treatment. Little Rock is an important medical hub, and we see from the front line that there is a real need for what we do. For over 25 years, our mission has been to provide a Home away from home for patients and their families seeking medical treatment in Little Rock. In a true home where families can focus on relaxing and recovering.

In 1995 the Little Rock Church began outreach to bone-marrow transplant patients. It was evident that there was a pressing need for affordable short and long-term housing for patients traveling into Little Rock to receive extensive lifesaving and life-preserving medical treatment. A lease on a single apartment was signed, and what was then called “Home Away from Home” was born. In March 2020, Home Away from Home transitioned into its independent 501c3 with a new name, “Goodness Village.”  Today, Goodness Village maintains 20 fully furnished apartment homes and plans on adding additional apartments to our inventory so that we may serve even more families. Over the years, we have provided deeply discounted short-term housing to hundreds of families from Arkansas and abroad.

I was a stranger and you invited me in…I was sick and you visited me.

Goodness Village has always been more than just a place to stay. The staff and volunteers build relationships with each family. We understand how stressful this time is for a family, so we provide additional care to help them rest and recover during their time with us. We know our service is making a life-long impact on the families we serve.
