A Journey of Faith, Family, and Goodness
We would like to honor and recognize the dedication and tireless efforts of family caregivers during National Family Caregivers Month. Carol Leach is a compassionate caregiver to her husband, Larry. Their faith in “God’s Got This” carried them through a life-altering experience and we are happy to be a part of their story.
Larry’s life took an unexpected turn when he faced end-stage renal failure, and he was placed on the National Registry for a kidney transplant. Despite anticipating a lengthy wait, two weeks later they received the news they’d been praying for a match was found. With no time to lose, their journey from Tennessee to UAMS in Little Rock became a mission of urgency. Meanwhile, Larry’s mother connected with Goodness Village, securing an available apartment.
What astonished the Leach family was that their Goodness Village apartment wasn’t merely a place to stay; it was fully equipped with everything they needed. Carol shared, “The apartment was beautifully decorated and so comfortable with plenty of room. It was evident that God is at the center of your organization. We have five children and ten grandchildren who were able to visit us during our stay at the apartment. When you were in such a vulnerable state, it was like Goodness Village became a shield, and you all loved on us just like family. I just don’t have the words to express it; you all were lifesavers.”
Join us in spreading goodness and supporting families like the Leach’s. Donate today to provide access to care and healing for the guests of Goodness Village! From now until December 31st, your contribution will be doubled thanks to our generous matching donor. Together, we can keep families within an arm’s reach of the hospital during their medical treatment. Help us reach our $100,000 goal by December 31st by donating at www.goodnessvillage.org
